The company invests heavily in facility development and water supply infrastructure
The predecessor of Bac Lieu Water Supply Joint Stock Company was Bac Lieu Water Plant Management Company, established in 1950. After more than 70 years of operation, the company has gone through many different models and names. In 2014, implementing the decision of the Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee on the equitization of Bac Lieu Water Supply One Member Co., Ltd., the General Meeting of Shareholders on establishment of Bac Lieu Water Supply Joint Stock Company was held on December 19, 2015.
After going public, the company has developed quite comprehensively. Given growing input costs in water production and supply, its revenue, profit, dividends, and employees’ income have all increased.
The company has made ongoing efforts to expand the water supply coverage and give water access to nearly 95% of residents in Bac Lieu City. Currently, the firm has built a complete water supply system with two standard water treatment plants with a daily capacity of 22,000 cubic meters to serve more than 31,000 households, agencies, and companies. The water supply network meets the water demand for daily life, industrial production and business, hence contributing effectively to the socioeconomic development of Bac Lieu province as well as Bac Lieu City.
In particular, after going public, Bac Lieu Water Supply Joint Stock Company has paid more attention to investing in facilities, water supply infrastructure and technology. At the same time, the company has adopted solutions to improve work capacity, performance and cost efficiency. Up to now, although its water supply pipeline has been invested for over 20 years, water loss has been kept below 10%, contributing to its more efficient operation.
In addition, the company has continuously applied information technology to management. In the past, reading and recording monthly water meters was done manually, which was time-consuming and costly, but meter data are transmitted to the company after it installed meters with measuring and reading devices. This move has helped ease inconvenience against customers and reduce costs for businesses.
Currently, in addition to producing and supplying water, Bac Lieu Water Supply Joint Stock Company has also invested and constructed water processing and supplying project for daily life, production and business; invested and constructed civil works, industrial works and technical infrastructure; installed water supply and drainage systems, consulted on investment in construction of civil, industrial and technical infrastructure. The company is also engaged in trading water and construction materials, producing bottled purified water and purified ice to boost incomes and improve livelihoods for employees.
